LHCb International MasterClasses 2014
This year our group participates in the "LHCb International Masterclasses" programme organized International Particle Physics Outreach Group (IPPOG) in collaboration with CERN with two sessions in Bucharest and Suceava.
The activity addresses high-school students from 9th to 12th grade and facilitates them the contact with the research environment from Măgurele campus close to Bucharest. During this particular day, students have the opportunity to attend lectures of elementary particle physics, to visit scientific infrastructure belonging to the Măgurele campus and to participate in the analysis of data acquired in the high energy experiment LHCb. The students will have the opportunity to discuss their results in a video-conference with researchers from CERN as well as with students from other scientific centres participating to the International Masterclasses programme. Their participation is recognized and certificated by awarding them diplomas.
- The two sessions are:
- 28th March at Univ. "Ștefan cel Mare" Suceava, partners are from Cern, Univ. Bologna and LPC Clermont Ferrand
- 3rd April at Măgurele, partners are from Cern, Univ. Tehnica Dortmund and LPNHE Paris
- Open classes
- Introduction to the Elementary Particle Physics
- LHCb@CERN Experiment
- Visit of the scientific campus
- Working Session: Determination of the Meson Lifetime D0 Based on Experimental Data
- Discussion of the Results: Video Conference with CERN and Participating Institutions
